Tour du Riable

Rich in both heritage and agricultural landscapes, the Riable mountain tour immerses you in the heart of an appreciable natural heritage.

Description

From the center of Lachau, reach Notre-Dame de Chalma. Follow the track that runs along the edge of the fields behind the church. At the second crossroads, turn right onto the track. Continue along the track until you reach the pine forest, then start climbing the mountain. Close to the clue, cross the small stream and climb up the winding road to the pass.
From the pass, start the descent via the track that leads to a farm below. Joining a wider, stony track, leave off in the direction of Eourres and the GRP. Continue on the main track and follow the yellow markings to the hamlet of Château.
From the hamlet, descend to the left on the road that drops away under the mountain for about 3 km, cutting through the clue. Go past "Malaric" and, at the intersection, cross the bridge over the Auzance. Turn left onto the D201 for 1 km. At "l'Adret", cross a similar bridge to the left, then immediately bend right onto the path which runs alongside the fields before rejoining the tarmac road. Follow this path (Chemin des Iscles) to the crossroads.
At the crossroads, marked by the "Canal" sign, find Notre-Dame de Chalma on the left, or the Mairie on the right.
