Alpion and “Tas de Pierres”

This charming hike is a slow discovery of Alpion and its mysterious rock pile (Tas de pierres).

Description

Starting point at the junction of Lachamp and Boussier hamlets. Park the car near the oratory.

Walk up the path on the left just before the oratory. Turn left on the hairpin turn above the tank. Stay on the main track and walk up on the right on the grassy path. Keep the main forest track.

Take the forest track on the right at the junction. It reaches a small pass. Leave the main path and turn right; The pass leads to Alpion crest. Reach the top (396m) on a round trip.

A few metres before the viewpoint find the path on the left that leads to the rock pile. Walk alongside it by the right and enter a oak trees forest. Continue to walk down on the crest. The path slowly widens. Turn left at the second junction.

Take the forest path during 200 metres and turn right at the second turn. The path walks down towards Lachamp.

Walk past the hamlet on the left and pursue on the road during 800 metres before reaching back the starting point.
