The first stage, from Col de Peyruergue to Sainte-Jalle, begins with a gentle climb to Col de Bodon. After descending to Col d'Ey, the route climbs back up along the Fournache. The first day ends with a slope down to Sainte-Jalle, via Rochebrune.

The second stage continues on the other side of the valley. With a succession of passes and hilltop villages, the gradient is much greater on this second section. Passing through Bellecombe-Tarendol and Saint-Sauveur-Gouvernet, a final climb takes you back to Col de Peyruergue.
