The village is supported by the moutain Buisseron, which is leading to the pass of Ambonne at 1,269 meters height, and the north of the community follows the moutain ridge of the moutain of Poët.
The south of the village is crossed by the Clos ravine where enters the Ennuye.
Description
Old fortified castrum, the perched village Poët Sigillat is one of the 4 "Poët" of the Drôme region, whose latin etymology comes from "podium", promontory.
Formerly surrounded by fortifications, some of which are still visible today, the village offers stunning view spots on the Ennuyé valley.
The St Martin parish church, open to visitors, houses a beautiful classified altar.
As a point of interest: the St Bernard chapel, historically a belfry, is now private. However, its bell still belongs to the inhabitants of the village.
A must see:
- The Poët mountain, 1300 meters high, offers a splendid view spot
- Perched village of Poët Sigillat : family ramble of 4km, 1h30. The map is available on request at the city hall of the village or at the Tourist Office.
