The name Les Tourrettes comes from the radical "Turretas" meaning little towers.

The signposted footpaths in Les Tourrettes offer a unique panorama of the surrounding villages. The commune is located at the gateway to the Drôme Provençale, covering an area of 7.34 km². It is easily accessible via the N7, the A7 "Montélimar Nord" freeway and even from the Ardèche via the RD 248. It lies to the north of the Montélimar conurbation, to the west of the Marsanne plain and to the east of the Ardèche, where it has an enclave in the commune of Cruas.
