La rivière de la Lône

Discover the village's natural and aquatic heritage and the surrounding countryside, with a special focus on the flora and fauna of the Rhône's aquatic environments.

Description

The village offers peaceful waterside leisure activities, including fishing on the Lône, the Contre Canal and the Trout Lake. It also offers a number of heritage hiking trails, from the islands north of the village to the Montélimar-Agglomération educational, sports and leisure center.
Departures for hikes and bike/mountain bike outings
- Riverbank flora walk
- Hiking between backwaters, lakes and lônes
- The Viarhôna by bike, from the Himalayan bridge to Cruas.
- The Vélo-route green mountain bike route from Ancône to Montélimar along the banks of the canal and the Roubion.
The middle of the old Rhône forms the boundary with Montélimar and Rochemaure to the west of the commune. The Rhône diversion canal divides the commune in two. The western part is located on the islands of the old Rhône at Montélimar.
Mooring rings, flood markers, grooved stone blocks equipped with cofferdams during floods and a towpath transformed into a road still remain. Now that the Rhône has been diverted and channelled away from the village, its devastating mood swings are a thing of the past.
