In a typically Provencal setting, La Touche boasts a medieval heritage: the 13th-century Notre-Dame-de-Maltaise chapel, the fountain and the Château. The oldest streets date back to the 12th century.
Description
The oldest part of the village dates back to the 12th century, when the area was called TOSCHIA (derived from the word "bois"), and offers you the freshness of its washhouse, much sought-after by walkers and cyclists, as well as beautiful walks in a 500-hectare forest that is already very Provencal. If you hear the angelus, it's the bell of the church of St Jean Baptiste, which gives rhythm to the passing of time and reminds you of the wisdom of the ancients who said "lou tem passo, passo lou ben". Nestling in the middle of the cemetery, Notre Dame de Maltaize is a place of pilgrimage (every year, on September 8, for the feast of the Nativity of the Virgin).
