Sentier Mire et Combaud

1

A lovely, shady hike to the orientation table and the superb Vinsobres landscape, with the Giant of Provence, Mont Ventoux, in the background.

Description

Head towards the church, go up in front of "le Bistrot", then left, under the sundial, Grand rue (shared route with "les Cornuds").

Turn right along the Calade des Templiers. Pass in front of the Temple (former priory). Option to take the path around the Temple.

Follow the road to the hundred-year-old pine trees. At this point, go down the embankment to the left (leaving the Cornuds path).
Walk past the pretty St Botin fountain and wash-house towards Venterol.

As you leave the village, turn left downhill to join the Valréas road.

Before the Pont de Mire bridge, turn right onto the small asphalt road for about 100m.

At the sign, turn left into the river bed and follow it for about 70m, crossing it on your left and climbing the embankment (stony passage).

Follow the vineyard and turn left, go down and up the small ravine, turn right and follow the crops for about 100m.
At a crossroads, turn left and then immediately right for a fairly steep climb through undergrowth.
You'll come to the Valréas road, with the orientation table on your left (384m).

Back to Vinsobres: walk about 50 m in the direction of Valréas and climb the embankment on the left (take care when crossing the road).

Follow the yellow markers through the pine forest for about 200m.
You'll come to a small asphalt road leading to Le Fresquet. Take this road to the left as far as the crossroads.

Take the 2nd road on the left (farm track) and follow it to the village (this is the track leading in the opposite direction to Bornes Papales).

It is advisable to hike in the direction indicated (steep slope).
