An easy loop starting from this typical perched village, between old stones, lavender fields and views of the Ventoux.
Description
"From the old houses in the village to the cairns and "clapiers" on the Champ rasé ridge, stone is present in many forms on this itinerary. This walk starts off downhill along a ridge, allowing you to enjoy the scenery, before heading back up towards the village on a shadier path on its 2nd section. The passage along the edge of a lavender field is an invitation to take the walk on a July morning! Vincent Aubert - Nature Sports Agent - PNR Baronnies provençales
From the village square, take the lane opposite the starting sign, which descends westwards towards Arpavon. Follow the track for 350 m, then turn left at the big oak tree.
1- Shortly after this crossroads, the track drops slightly and faces Mont Ventoux. After 500 m, the track leads to an old field: the track becomes a path.
2- Go straight on for 1 km and descend the ridge on the path marked with small cairns. At the end of the ridge, turn right towards the rightmost telephone pole.
3- Rejoin the track and follow it to the left for 200 m. Opposite the house, turn left and follow the path uphill towards Le Poët-Sigillat (2 km). The path runs beneath the village along a wall: take the small asphalt rise to the right, then join the village houses in the covered lane passing beneath the bell of the Chapelle Saint-Bernard. Go down to the village square via the alleyway on the east side of Le Poët-Sigillat.
