Set out to conquer the mythical highest point overlooking Nyons: the summit of Garde Grosse. After a tough climb of over 700 m, you'll find yourself on beautiful, single-track trails that you'll be able to climb again and again.
Description
4km of fun, with sections of ridge that are sometimes aerial, before descending back to the starting point. Take care on the technical sections, as the Essaillon ridges are cliffside at times.
The sectors you're about to tackle pass through a Natura 2000 area, renowned for its remarkable biodiversity. You too can contribute to its preservation by adopting an eco-responsible attitude. The steep slopes of the Garde Grosse mountain have made it difficult to develop, and many areas are untouched by human activity. The forested slopes lie below imposing rocky bars. It is on these cliffs that a number of nesting birds have chosen to come and breed, including the Griffon Vulture, the more discreet Eagle-Owl and the Golden Eagle.
