La chapelle de Montceau

Leaving Espeluche and its typical little streets, set off to discover the Butte de Montceau and its perched, well-hidden chapel!

Description

The narrow streets of the historic center of Espeluche, a typical Provencal village center, organized in a "crown" with two stone gates at each end. Its narrow flower-lined streets and central fountain, just in front of "le banc du Seigneur", are enchanting. The walk continues to the butte de Montceau, whose name means "little hill" and which was once an oppidum in the Paleolithic period. The eponymous chapel was built over ancient Christian Gallo-Roman burials. A historic site to discover in a different way, on a mountain bike!
